Nothing like unscheduled down time thanks to a host glitch.. UGH.
Of course their knee jerk reaction was to say the problem was on my end. You would think all the years I have been with this host and the fact I haven’t had to take a support ticket out in two years would make them second guess saying the fault was mine first.
Especially since they knew they had just updated their servers.
I used to love the host but after recent days it definitely took them off their pedestal perch.
My contract renews in December. I am debating on starting to look for a new host.
The only thing is do I want to risk the issues. This is the first time in years that my service was this bad. Do I chalk it up to a one time screw up, giving it a wait and see attitude?
I debated on just buying the domain name but after seeing reviews and all the drama that can go with that, I am just as reluctant. Hosts in Canada seem to be touch and go everywhere.
Joys of technology, right?!
I don’t see any more downtime in the future which is nice, because I had enough down time waiting for my net to be installed as you may recall.
Besides, I want to get on with the sharing this week,
I have a review coming for a picture book, that blew me away, Definitely a book with a place in the top of my 2014 list. (Can you believe how close we are to 2015?!?!?!) This particular book should have a special place in the hearts of all Americans.
I wish there was a more Canadian version to this book. It is a total GEM.
I will also have a few NetGalley reviews. Two Spirituality books I was approved for.
I also want to spot light some great new Twitter accounts, I have had the pleasure of stumbling upon this week.
You may of noticed from the retweets and favourites,
I also want to highlight a few other wonderful resources.
All these “promo” ish type posts are just because I love them and they really need to be shared. Practical, educational and fun things for kids need to be shared so they stay around.
As a mother who is seriously considering homeschooling this is another reason why sharing is so important to me.
I know what it is like to be new to motherhood and thinking about your child and the future and how you would like to raise your child. If I have even one post that helps someone then I have done what I set out to do.
I believe you have to be the change you want to see in the world, no matter how small. All positive changes matter.
It’s so easy to feel small in this world, feeling you don’t matter but everyone matters. Every one of us can have an impact.
It doesn’t matter your gender, your race, your age, or your social class.
All that matters is that you TRY and you keep trying.
Words I think everyone needs to remember. Also words I want Kidlet to remember and believe as she grows.
If you are considering homeschooling are in the throws, what are your favourite resources, books or supports?
Link them on twitter or in the comments.
How do you deal with the criticism?
This is going to be a big one for me, because I know it is coming.
I am raising my daughter in way that works for us. My family has been opinionated since day one because I went against how they did things. (Thank goodness!)
This will be the big choice of mine that really sets a fire. But I choose to look at it in a positive light.
It is the way I am trying to see things. It is easier to be negative, but that is just now how I want to live. Nor is it how I want my daughter to learn to live.
Be the change.
