I was glancing through my spiritual journal this morning, and I noticed very quickly. My two top productivity killers.
Technology and reading.
I always find things that I’d like to try, I start and very quickly get overwhelmed and get lost in all the things I have going on.
I need to start letting go of something temporarily while trying new things on to give the new thing a fair chance.
My most obviously things to let go of are reading and technology depending on which one works best.
I’ve also been terrible at following the goal I set of unplugging Friday night until Sunday.
So I am going to get back to doing that at least once a month.
Just before Lent I found SSJE.
Which I followed briefly before becoming overwhelmed by everything.
I loved the videos that I found. I really felt like they fit. Each had it’s own theme. (A word of the day)
But I set it up to fail by not giving myself the space to give it a fair shot.
My new goal is to finish the book I am reading and it will be the last book I read.
At least until I spend a few days giving the SSJE videos a fair chance and actually spending the time watching and reflecting on them.
With the latest pre order hitting my Kindle this morning that is one tricky goal.
But my determination will get me through it.
If nothing else it just may help me gain a little more patience.
